The Departmental Computing Group ("Deptcomp" for short) is comprised of computer support professionals who work for the University of Oregon. We communicate primarily via the DeptComp email list and meet as a group once a month.

The idea behind the Departmental Computing group is to work collaboratively and cooperatively. To achieve that goal, please use the DeptComp list as a place to:

• share ideas, research and techniques for using technology at the university,
• announce new services and policies
• announce IT-related events, such as presentations,
• conferences, webinars, meetings and searches,
• communicate professionally, and
• ask for advice and assistance.

Please do not use DeptComp to:

• advertise non-UO goods and services
• report problems
• report security exploits, and
• flame or troll.
