Duck ID

What's a Duck ID?
A Duck ID is a username. In practice, you will use your Duck ID username and associated password to log in to systems.

What Will Duck ID Be Used For?
You can use your Duck ID to access Blackboard, wireless, modem, VPN and your email (such as Alphamail).

Get Your Duck ID
If you are new to the university you can claim your account by visiting duckid.uoregon.edu. Enter your UO ID number and PAC in ALL UPPERCASE to log in the first time.

The first time you log in, you will be asked to create answers for a set of security questions. Answer carefully. You will be asked to answer these questions if you reset your password in the future.

(Your PAC is the password you use to log in to DuckWeb. Students receive PACs when they apply for admission. Faculty and staff will receive PACs in a letter from Human Resources.)

Already Have a UO EMail Address?
If you already have a UO email address you already have a Duck ID. Your Duck ID will be your username--the part of your email address to the left of the @ sign.

Changing Your Password
To change your password, go to duckid.uoregon.edu. Enter your username and password, then click the login button. On the next page, click the Change Password link and follow the directions.

Resetting Your Password
If you forget your password, go to duckid.uoregon.edu. Enter your username, then click the Forgot Password button. Follow the directions to reset your password.

Password Expiration
Your password will expire once every 180 days. One week before your password expires we will send you a notice via email, telling you when your password will expire and how to change it.

What Makes a Valid Password?
We have listened to your feedback and have simplified our password requirements. A valid password is:

  • between eight and 32 characters in length
  • not one of your last three passwords
  • not your email address or name
  • not a word in the English or Spanish dictionaries
  • not a common keyboard sequence (asdfghjk or qwertyui, for example)
