 Configuring
Windows Mail
|
To configure Windows Mail to log in to your UOregon account, follow these
steps:
- From the Tools menu select Accounts
- Click the Add... button
- Select E-mail Account and click the Next button
- Enter your name and click the
Next button'
- Enter your email address and click the Next button
- From the Incoming e-mail
server type menu select IMAP
- In the Incoming mail server box, enter imap.uoregon.edu
- In the Outgoing e-mail
server name box, enter smtp.uoregon.edu
- Click the "Outgoing server requires
authentication" check box
- Enter your username--the first part of your email
address--in the email username box
- Enter your password, if you wish, in the
Password box
- Click the "Do not download my e-mail and folders at this time" check
box
- Click Finish
- Click the Properties button to edit your new account
- Click the Advanced tab
- Under Outgoing mail (SMTP), click the "This server requires a secure
connection (SSL)" check box.
- Change the number in the box from 25 to 587.
- Under Incoming mail (IMAP), click
the "This server requires a secure
connection (SSL)" check box
- Adjust the Server Timeouts slider to 3 minutes
- Click the OK button
- Click Close button
