Information Services report
- Review of proposed 2013 maintenance weekends – Susan will update the draft with everyone’s changes and redistribute for approval.
Proposed Maintenance Weekends:
- IDR project – nightly windows for refreshing Cognos data
IS requested a 1 a.m. – 6 a.m. nightly window for refreshing Banner data in Cognos. Jobs that update data in Banner need to be scheduled outside this window. An important one is TGRNITE, which can run 30 minutes to 3+ hours. IS will continue to solicit feedback from other schools regarding how they handle their refresh windows.
- IDR project – sensitive data
Susan distributed a list of sensitive data that was in Cognos and asked which fields should be exposed to Finance users who do not have access to sensitive data. Mark identified the following fields:
ID (UO ID)
- Add employee emergency contact information to DuckWeb – Mark
Mark would like to enable the baseline ability for UO employees to enter and update their emergency contact relationship, address and telephone number via DuckWeb. Everyone agreed to try the functionality in TEST and IS will do some investigation to confirm that turning it on won’t conflict with other UO modifications to Banner, particularly those done for students. Tabled until the next BCG meeting.
