UO Docs: Getting Started

How to Log in to UO Docs

  1. Open a browser and navigate to
  2. Log in with your DuckID (first part of the UO email address) and email password.

How to create a secured folder

Secured folders have access restricted only to users whom you designate.

  1. Click on New Folder
  2. Enter a name and click Next (don't press Enter as it will just finish the task)
  3. Enter the email addresses of the users you wish to give access to and click Next
  4. On the ticket permissions page, grant either Read-Only or Read/Write/Delete permissions to the recipients. Don't click Next yet.
  5. Click the down arrow to the right of Ticket Permissions.
    1. Specify the amount of time you'd like the users to have permissions to this folder. The default is 30 days.
    2. Enter and confirm a password. This will be the password you supply to the users who wish to access this folder.
  6. Click Next
  7. If you'd like to specify versioning/logging/notifications, you may do so here, otherwise, click Next.
  8. If you'd like, you can modify the email to be sent to the users who will be granted access to this folder. You may wish to include the password here. Click Finish when done.
  9. The users who you added in step #3 will receive the email in the above step, including a link to the folder.

How to Upload files to a folder

Note: For recipients, the folder owner must grant Write permissions to you to upload files.

  1. Click on Upload
  2. Click on Choose File and select your file.You can add multiple files at once by clicking Add File
  3. When finished, click Start Upload

How to download files/folders

  1. Simply double-click on a file to download it.
  2. To download a folder, select the folder and choose "More Actions", then select Save to Zip File.
  3. Extracting the Zip File should preserve the file hierarchy of any contents within the original folder.

Sharing a file/folder after it has been created

  1. Select the file or folder and click on Share.
  2. Enter the email address(es) of the users you would like to share it with, modify the message as you prefer and click Send.
