UO staff, faculty and researchers can now sign up for iLinc and/or Adobe Connect webinar software accounts at a heavily discounted rate. iLinc accounts are $12/speaker/year and Adobe Connect accounts are $150/speaker/year.

The UO Libraries and Information Services is pleased to host Derek Abrams, manager of OSU's Managed Communications Services. Come hear the differences between iLinc and Adobe Connect, figure out which one will work for you, and learn how to get set up.

About OSU Managed Communication Services

The Oregon State University’s Managed Communications Services (MCS) under the management of Derek Abrams, developed and manages the services programs. In addition to MCS being the State of Oregon’s delegated authority for audio, video, web conferencing & collaboration services and related media services, MCS is also the underlying service provider for the Oregon Health Network (telehealth/telemed). The refocus of the service began in May 2010 and began a transitioned into a self-service cooperative state cloud communications services network in July 2010. The primary focus of MCS is on Unified Conferencing & Collaboration (UCC) services, currently audio, video and web conferencing. Through our service portal, OSUMEETME.VC, we bring together all the different service collaborations and contributions and work towards integrating the various forms of real-time communications into a seamless UCC platform.

The services and network operation are supported through subscription and collective capital investments of our customers, which include OUS, all state agencies, members of the Oregon Health Network, members of the Oregon Cooperative Purchasing Program, and some NGO and NPO entities. Our approach to service offering has saves the state more than $2.2M a year and saved the state between $33M-35M in cost avoidance in its first year of operation.
