This spring term, Canvas and Sakai will be reviewed in a pilot program as part of UO's Learning Management System (LMS) Review. The LMS Review Task Force selected Canvas and Sakai after reviewing faculty and IT staff feedback from the Winter term testing phase.

Over twenty faculty have volunteered to teach with one of these two platforms and provide feedback on their experiences. Students enrolled in these courses will also be asked to give their input via focus groups and an online survey.

Faculty, GTFs, and students participating in the spring term pilot can find help resources on the LMS blog:

The committee is on schedule to make a final recommendation to Academic Affairs by the end of the academic year.

All winter term LMS platforms, including Blackboard, ObaVerse, Desire to Learn, Canvas and Sakai, are still under consideration until a final decision is made.
