Information Services invites the UO campus IT community to an on-campus technology seminar with Cisco:
Preparing for BYOD and IPv6
The exhaustion of IPv4 and proliferation of new devices (BYOD and the Internet of Everything) requires that we look at securing IPv6 link operations. With IPv6, end nodes are given more autonomy and have exposure to new vulnerabilities from both a practical and theoretical approach.
We will begin with a very technical deep dive into the operation and foundational underpinnings of the IPv6 protocol. Building upon that foundation, we will then examine the IPv6 design considerations for the most common network locations. This will include Campus, Data Center and the Internet Edge.
The attendee can expect to gain very useful technical knowledge to assist them in their planning, securing and implementation of IPv6.

Tim Martin of Cisco has been in the Internetworking industry for more than 31 years. Tim is a dynamic presenter and has achieved the “Distinguished Speaker” award for his contributions to the global Cisco Live events. His current role as a Solutions Architect is focused on the U.S. public sector space. Tim achieved the distinction of a multi-protocol CCIE #2020 in June 1996. He has participated in numerous industry events relating to IPv6 and has attained the Gold Certified Engineer status from the IPv6 Forum.
