Activating Office Online and OneDrive via Office 365

Through Office 365, Microsoft offers online versions of its Office suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote. Known collectively as Office Online, these apps run in your web browser.

But before you can use the Office Online apps, you must claim your OneDrive space.

  1. Go to the UO Office 365 portal at office.uoregon.edu and log in with your full UO email address (@uoregon.edu) and corresponding password. [[wysiwyg_imageupload:1908:]]
  2. Select the OneDrive icon.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Click Your OneDrive is ready.
  5. Your OneDrive account has now been activated. A list of your documents will display. To use Word Online, Excel Online, PowerPoint Online, or OneNote Online, click Office 365 in the upper left, then select the app of your choice.

If you attempt to create a document in Word Online, Excel Online, or PowerPoint Online — or to open OneNote online — without first activating OneDrive, you may see one of the following two error messages:
