How to Change or Reset Your DuckID Password

Your DuckID password expires every 180 days. If you have forgotten your password or are unable to login to webmail, Blackboard, or other services that use DuckID, there are several options for resetting your DuckID password.

First Option: DuckID login
Use this option if your DuckID password has expired but your still know the password.

  • In a web browser, go to https://duckid.uoregon.edu
  • Click on “Manage Your Duck ID”
  • Log in with your DuckID (the first part of your UO email address) and your password
  • Click "Change My Password" and the Submit button
  • Pick a new password

Second Option: DuckID password recovery
Use this option if the first option did not work.

There are three options for recovering your password: security questions, temporary passcode via SMS text message, or temporary passcode via an alternate email. Note: Security question answers are not case sensitive.

To use SMS text or alternate email recovery, you must have set those up prior to forgetting your password. See How to add alternate password recovery information to set up SMS text or alternate email address recovery instructions.

Third Option: in-person password reset
Use this option if the first two did not work.

Be sure to bring photo ID with you when you come in person. We cannot reset passwords without photo ID.  Photo ID can be your UO ID card, driver’s license, passport, or other government issued ID.
