This article is the third in the weekly series, IT Snapshots. New articles are published every Friday. Currently, IT Snapshots is exploring how UO students use technology.

In last week's IT Snapshots, we saw that besides e-mail, text messaging and instant messaging are the two most frequently used communications methods.

This week we look at what software and services student use. Spreadsheets are the most commonly used application in the survey—word processing was not surveyed—and a majority of students use the UO Library web site at least once a week.
