Adobe Creative Cloud Apps

Product Information

Great News! Adobe and the UO have finally reached an agreement for a campus solution!

Disclosure of Services Provided by UO:

The University of Oregon's agreement with Adobe is only for Adobe Creative Cloud Apps and the Creative Cloud Packager.

This means that users with Adobe ID's are only guaranteed support for the Apps portion (Creative Suite Apps) of their functionality associated with their account. However, Adobe ID's have other separate free offerings including, but not limited to, Assets, Typekit Fonts, Market, File syncing, Community support, and Adobe Stock photos.

These services are not supported by the UO and either have limited functionality or can change or be removed by Adobe at any time. These free offerings are available on an 'as-is' basis and end users are advised to use them with caution, at their own discretion, and with the understanding that Adobe (the vendor) is responsible for and to be contacted for issues that may arise with said offerings.

Adobe Creative Suite includes:

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended: Bitmap graphics editor
  • Illustrator: Vector graphics editor
  • InDesign: Graphics editor developed around posters, magazines, newspapers and books
  • Acrobat XI Pro: View, edit, and create PDFs
  • Flash Catalyst: Creates flash applications without additional coding
  • Flash Professional: Create interactive content for websites, phones and other devices
  • Dreamweaver: Website builder
  • Fireworks: Bitmap and vector graphics editor built around web development.

Adobe Creative Cloud Packager:

  • Allows the administrator/user to create a custom software offering of the Creative Suite that can be deployed to one or more endpoints.

Licensing and Restrictions

Adobe Campus offerings (Creative Cloud and Creative Suite) are only available to university faculty/staff at this time for use on university-owned machines and lab usage. Students may access the software through a university-owned lab machine only and will not be able to download the software on their personal devices unless they purchase the discounted version on their own. Keep in mind that we are required to maintain a 60/40 ratio of Adobe Acrobat to Creative Suite. Meaning, for every 4 machines that has CS downloaded, 6 more require acrobat to be installed.
