* IMPORTANT UPDATE: Mathematica has been updated to version 11.1 and the new downloads/activation instructions are available below.

Product Information

Mathematica seamlessly integrates a numeric and symbolic computational engine, graphics system, programming language, documentation system, and advanced connectivity to other applications.  It is this range of capabilities—many world-leading in their own right—that makes Mathematica uniquely capable as a "one-stop shop" for you or your organization's technical work.

The Wolfram Mathematica Tutorial Collection is an invaluable aid to your many students and faculty who use Mathematica in their work.  This 23-title collection documents the features and capabilities of Mathematica—from graphics to data analysis to programming—and can be viewed online, downloaded as a PDF, or ordered in print: http://url.wolfram.com/5KoZcs/

Obtaining Software

The Mathematica software can be downloaded and an activation key can be obtained from the Wolfram user portal.  The link to the portal and activation keys to older versions of Mathematica are available under "Software Available for Download" below. If you log in from a non-uoregon.edu email address, you will be given a temporary authorization code and the site license administrator will need to approve your request.  If you log in using your uoregon.edu address, you will be given an authorization code for the school year.

For Faculty and Staff who are installing the Mathematica software on several computers, you may want to use the lab version.  That is now included on our IT site.  The lab version requires the authorization code listed in the Faculty/Staff Activation File.  Please Do Not use this software set for individual computers.

Mathematica renews annually in June and users will need to request a new authorization code each year after the software renews.  The new activation file information will be available in the download section below.

Note:  If your product is not connected to the internet and your license has expired, you will need to manually reactivate your product.  On the Expired License screen, click the Enter Activation Key button.  Then on the Product Activation screen, select "Other ways to activate" and choose "Manual activation."  Follow the directions provided.  If you are just now installing Mathematica,  authorization codes for home use must be acquired from the Wolfram web site: http://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/.  If you have questions about this process, please email sitelisn@uoregon.edu
